A good internet connection is worth its weight in gold. Get what you pay for.

This is my speed test. I have a 16mbit by 1mbit connection. This means that I can download at 16mbit or 1600kps (but really I can download at around 1800kps from usenet). This also means that I can upload at 100kps.

A good internet connection is critical when it comes to downloading. I have helped some users in their home networks who tell me there internet is slow or their internet doesn't work all the time. What is the point of downloading if nothing works or nothing is constant? If your internet speeds are slow try and find the point of slowness. I was a tier 2/3 commercial support tech for a large ISP in Canada. I'm not going to say who but trust me when I say they are there to help you. If your internet stops working call them. They will check the modem. You will have to rule that out to make sure your modem isn't loosing sync, dropping packets or your RX/TX levels (send/receive levels on your modem).

If you are having slow speeds contact them. Most likely they will check your modem. Another thing they will do is have you connect a computer right to the modem and run a speed test. This will rule out any problems with a router, bad network cables, etc. We want to cut down on the points of failure. One computer connected to the modem via a network cable should be the best place to start. Talk to the support team. YOU ARE PAYING THEM MONEY THEY HAVE TO HELP YOU.

Don't put up with cap internet if you can make a call and get it fixed. They might have to send a tech to swap the modem, put a line signal booster or fix the lines.lines.
